A happy sexy birthday to my beloved Kang. Here’s an equally sexy mix tape and a gift bag of sleazy romance novels to accompany you whenever.
Imelda May – Big Bad Handsome Man
When he looks at me/I get weak knees
Warpaint – Beetles
Let’s get naked and rip down the wall that makes me crazy
tell me how/Someone hold my hand and give me lessons ‘cos I wanna/Melt the knot inside of it
The Doors – Light My Fire
Come on baby, light my fire/Come on baby, light my fire/Try to set the night on fire
Gotye – Heart’s a Mess
My heart’s a mess/and I’m desperate to connect
Anya Marina – Whatever You Like (cover)
Baby you can have whatever you like
Radiohead – Where I End and You Begin
And I can’t and I can’t come down/I can watch and cant take part
Dum Dum Girls – Bedroom Eyes
I see your body in the doorway, so it seems
Some Gorgeous Accident – Luminescence
Here’s to more dirty jokes as we say goodbye to everything innocent! I love you, even if I don’t have money in the bank or helipads (with actual helicopters), or umm, R8 Audis.

In other more relevant news, Akimoto Yasushi recently announced the debut of AKB48 sub-unit DiVA and Akimoto Sayaka’s reinstatement as Team K’s leader. DiVA is composed of Akimoto Sayaka (Team K), Umeda Ayaka (Team K), Sae Miyazawa (Team K) and Masuda Yuka (formerly Team K, currently in Team B) and they are under the care of Avex Trax Japan. DiVA Official Website. Other AKB48 sub-units include no3b, Watarirouka, FrenchKiss, and the recently debuted Not Yet.
Their single, yet to be announced will drop on April 27 but it was revealed that Type C will include Blue Rose -diva version-. Blue Rose is one of the most popular stage songs of Team K, originally performed by Masuda, Akimoto, and Miyazawa. Akimoto and Miyazawa was once part of ChocoLove (another defunct AKB sub-unit) with graduated member Nakanishi Rina (Team A) who now goes by the name Yamaguchi Riko.
Can’t wait for their release! I swear, these four are new breed of AKB48 idols with epic proportions because of their deep vocals and powerful dancing and well, let’s not forget to mention how Sayaka!charms can melt glaciers. Pinay pride all the way!
In lesser relevant news, 19 days to go before my birthday TEE HEE WINK WINK HINT HINT.
I’m two days late behind the hype, as usual, since I’m too late for everything. But yes, Lotus Flower is on! I haven’t heard the whole album yet– but hopefully it has a wider range than this song. Don’t get me wrong though, I love this track but not so much as I hero-worshiped Idioteque. I guess I’m a little biased when it comes to their techno/ambient style or whatever music that they do (I’m inclined to call it Trip-Hop infused with Rock but that’s just me).
Snap reactions on the video: Thom Yorke awkwardly dancing. It was almost comically done but the cinematography and the angles were done impeccably it was so hard to take it as anything else — maybe a bit hypnotizing at times but then it was just Thom Yorke dancing, nothing more.
Hah, anyway, I should already get a copy of the album. I dunno, will it be available in the Philippines? D: To those who have listened to the album already, how was it?
When it comes to appreciating music, I’ve always been keen on two separate elements: the lyrics and the tiny details that you can hear on the track. For me, these are separate entities that should be appreciated by itself– or if I’m lucky, together. This is why Radiohead has been one of the few great music stumbles of my life (this and Youjeen).
Radiohead is back with their new record, The King of Limbs, which they are dubbing as the world’s first (perhaps, their words not mine) Newspaper album. Album includes two clear 10″ vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve, a CD, large sheets of newspaper artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-color piece of oxo-degradable plastic to hold it all together. One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12″ vinyl. For more information please go here.
I’m excited for this album; I might be reading too much from this but I love how the guys are still advocating for the benefit of the environment (re: degradable plastic) I hope it’ll be available here in the Philippines because I really can’t afford to pre-order now (so much for maxing out my dad’s credit card for the iTouch argh).
